FEATURES
Windows NAS
Aberdeen AberNAS N-Series for Windows have been designed for use with the latest Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2012 R2. Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 offers a number of greatly enhanced capabilities and benefits when compared with previous versions. Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 delivers excellent economics for a shared storage solution by gaining leverage from industry-standard hardware matched with robust storage capabilities. It delivers continuous availability that is designed to protect organizations from a range of failures and to help prevent downtime, and it offers organizations a scalable and reliable solution. Other new features include next generation processors, improved expansion bus tecnology, greater memory capacity and more efficient power supplies.
Featuring Intel® Xeon® Processor E5 v3 Family
The latest members of the Intel Xeon processor E5 family deliver the best combination of performance, built-in capabilities, and cost-effectiveness to address technical computing challenges, enable cloud deployments, accelerate processor performance for peak loads, deliver intelligent storage or power data analytics. In comparison to previous generation processors you get:
- Up to 3x more performance
- The world's most energy efficient server
- Up to 1.9x more performance with Intel® AVX 25
- Up to 1.7x increased virtual machine density
- Up to 1.4x increased memory bandwidth with DDR4
Opening the server storage bottleneck 12Gb/s Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) technology enables a new performance, class of storage tiering that spans servers with solid state drives to hyperscale datacenter scale-out architectures. The interface doubles the data transfer rate of 6Gb/s SAS solutions, allowing SAS infrastructures to deliver bandwidth that exceeds that of PCI Express® 3.0 with a single host bus adapter (HBA).
12Gb/s SAS enterprise-proven solutions provide the connectivity, scalability, performance and manageability required for the most demanding enterprise storage applications.
Intelligent Platform Management Interface
For hardware-level platform monitoring and control functions, the IPMI protocol utilizes an out-of-band network to provide a flawless and secure path for mission-critical applications when regular in-band connectivity is lost or is unresponsive. Remote access for monitoring and administration allows the server administrators to view a server's hardware status remotely, receive an alarm automatically if a failure occurs, and power cycle a system that is non-responsive.
